Helene Dauphine

Helene Edith Dauphine, 92, of Libby, died Oct. 8, 2005, at her home.

She was born on April 12, 1913, at Poplar, to George and Maggie Dupree Kirn.

She grew up in Poplar where she attended a private Catholic boarding school. After graduating from high school, Helene attended college for three years.

She married Francis Dauphine in 1935.

Helene had a number of jobs and lived in numerous places. Butte was considered her second home.

She moved to Libby in 1964 and enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and fishing.

Survivors include son George Dauphine and his wife Jayne, Libby; grandchildren Sharla Dauphine and her husband Chris, Libby; Joe Dauphine, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; Ed Dauphine Jr., in Virginia; Nicole Dauphine and Susan Dauphine in California; Shayla Neubauer, Shelly Wittwer and Tony Long, all of Libby, and Stacey and Jean in Oregon, and seven great-grandchildren.

Helene was preceded in death by her husband Francis, son Ed Dauphine, three brothers and two sisters.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the City of Libby Cemetery.

Local arrangements are by the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home.
