| October 7, 2005 12:00 AM

Peter Donald Landis, 58, of Troy, died on Oct. 3, 2005, at St. John's Lutheran Hospital in Libby.

He was born on July 6, 1947, at Livingston, N.J., to Donald and Beverly Landis.

Pete married Marion Hunerlage on June 23, 1967, at Port Murray, N. J., and they had two sons.

Pete worked as a land surveyor for many years before moving to the Yaak area in 1991. He later moved to Troy and was employed by KSI in Libby.

An outdoorsman, Pete loved to hunt and fish and was an excellent craftsman. He could build anything from a dollhouse for his granddaughters to his own home on Lake Creek. He took pride in his work and his family, and they were proud of him.

Everyone who knew Pete will miss him. An exceptional man, Pete was a remarkable husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Survivors include his wife Marion, Troy; sons Scott and his wife Delayne Landis, Troy, and Kevin and his wife Kathy Landis, Libby; his parents Donald and Beverly Landis in Neptune, N.J., sisters Barbara in New Jersey, Nancy in Georgia and Donna in Florida; brother Jack Landis in Oklahoma, granddaughters Emily and Erin Landis, and many nieces and nephews.

There will be an open house at his home at 4505 Lake Creek Road, Troy, on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 1 p.m. for family and friends who would like to gather in Pete's memory.
