KNF supervisor deserves pat on the back
To the Editor:
It is my understanding that our forest supervisor, Bob Castaneda, used input from other district rangers, collaborative groups, suggestions for modifications from district specialists, suggestions from American Indian tribes, elected officials, and agencies to present to the Forest Planning team in the making of the draft forest plan, which is a modification of the Starting Option map.
After two years of meetings, many of us came away with a much better understanding of the complexity of drafting a forest plan.
I, for one, would like to give our supervisor a "pat on the back" for keeping forest management in the plan as a tool to assure the forest would be used for economic and social values and still protect the environment.
