Don Young

Donald "Don" Young died at his Billings home on Nov. 3, 2005.

He was born in Billings, Sept. 13, 1926, the son of Henry and Olive (Smith) Young. After graduating from Billings Senior High School, he married Joan P. Mossett in Billings on Dec. 17, 1949. He attended college in Billings and Denver, and got a degree in business before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He held the rank of Lieutenant at the time of his discharge in 1962.

Donald worked for JC Penney in Billings, Williston, N.D., and Hettinger, N.D., before he and Joan purchased their own retail business in Libby in 1971. In 1984, he and his wife moved back to Billings and he held various jobs until he retired.

Donald is survived by his three children: Lory Jennings and her husband Michael and Bruce Young of Billings, and Bradley Young and his wife Betty of Libby. He had three grandchildren.

Donald enjoyed hunting game and birds and was an avid fisherman. He loved the mountains and spending time outdoors.

Services were held Monday, Nov. 7, at Cremation or Funeral Gallery, 29 Eighth St. West.
