Lois Graves

Lois Graves, 63, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, at Libby.

She had been a resident of the Kootenai Valley since 1965 where she, along with Helen Tarbert had owned and operated the Hel-Lo Beauty Salon for many years until her retirement.

She was born at Havre on Sept. 17, 1942, to Louie Petrie and Frances Powell Petrie and was raised and educated at Turner; she later attended beauty college at Havre and had worked as a beautician in shops at both Havre and Malta. Following her arrival in Libby, she also had worked briefly as a flagger on the Libby Dam Project.

Lois enjoyed handcrafts of all kinds including embroidery, candle-wicking and ceramics and had been a lifelong rodeo enthusiast. Her greatest love was her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Russell of Libby; her children, LuAnne Graves and Rusty Graves, both of Libby; a sister, Nellie Obrecht of Turner; grandchildren Krista, Seth, Chaz, Brady and Haley; step-children Michael Graves, Roberta Laerssen and Rita, all of International Falls, Minn.; and Daniel Graves of Clouquet, Minn.; and their children and grandchildren.

Services were held on Monday, Nov. 7, at the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home Chapel; entombment services were Tuesday at Hillcrest Mausoleum in Great Falls.
