Former resident remembers Lincoln Elementary

To the Editor:

As I look at that beautiful old school building (which I am only old enough to remember as "Lincoln Elementary" my third grade year), I picture downtown Monterey, Calif. The old Cannery Row area. Nearby, they have a nice little mini-mall in just such a structure as the old Libby High School, filled with small craft shops.

This would be a good idea for the Libby building, since there are so many new businesses getting started in local houses. Of course, I'm sure the cost would be a deterrent. I just hate to think of the building disappearing.

Good luck, people!
