Wilfred Ole Johnson

Wilfred C. (Ole) Johnson, 88, longtime Libby businessman, died on Saturday, May 14, 2005, at St. John's Lutheran Hospital.

He was born on Oct. 9, 1916, at Froid.

Ole served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

After his honorable discharge, Ole moved to Libby where he operated a Standard service station and a new care sales and repair shop.

He continued to sell new and used cars in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, where he operated a Mobil service station along with a Nash dealership. He also operated a Husky and Texaco service station before returning to Libby to purchase Bricks' Cycle Sales and Service and the Honda dealership.

Ole married Hazel Sanders on May 31, 1983.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian Calma Kyseth and a grandson, Kevin Johnson.

Survivors include his wife Hazel, Libby; sons Larry Johnson, Kennewick, Wash., Clarence Johnson and Jr. Johnson, both of Libby, and Bob Johnson, Bonners Ferry; daughters Lorraine Hansen, Spokane, Mary Sanvik, Apache Junction, Ariz., and Lois Johnson, Bonners Ferry; sister Mabel Williams, Portland, Ore., and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Local arrangements are by the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation, the Ronald McDonald House or a charity of the donor's choice.
