Ted Coleman

Longtime Libby resident Theodore E. (Ted) Coleman, 90, died on March 24, 2005, at the Libby Care Center.

Born on Aug. 28, 1914, at Wakon, Minn., to Mansel and Elsie Parks Coleman, Ted came to Libby with his family in 1923.

Ted worked for many years in construction and helped build the old city hall building on Mineral Avenue.

He later worked in the construction of steel buildings and as a blaster and powder man. He was a knowledgeable gunsmith in the Libby area for many years.

Ted served with the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include sister Elaine Brown, Billings, brother John Coleman, Renton, Wash., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Grace Mansfield and Betty Roeser and brother Ross Coleman.

Graveside services with military honors will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, at the City of Libby Cemetery.

Arrangements are under direction of Nelson & Vial Funeral Home.
