Libby resident spreads word of senseless murder in Washington

| March 17, 2005 11:00 PM

To the Editor:

I would like to share this with as many people as possible. There are very cruel people in this world and to do something like this to an animal and then lie about it, is unforgivable.

This article is about two dear friends in Toledo, Wash., who have just lost two of their dearly loved Dobermans.

I am writing this in our Libby paper because it is a very senseless and cruel killing of these two innocent, very sweet and loving show Dobermans, one of which was shown in Helena, Mont. in 2003.

There is a vet report that confirms both dogs were shot with a shotgun running away from this cruel man, he put them down and then loaded his shotgun again and put a shot into each of the dogs heads. Then he went and called the sheriff and reported he had shot two Dobermans that were trying to attack him.

Well, to the best of my knowledge there is no animal that can attack you while they are running away from you. These dogs were cold, frightened and hungry, and just wanted to get back to their home.

This was an intentional murder and so very uncalled for from the vet's report. A simple shot in the air would have sent the dogs fleeing back towards their home. And then to stand and bold face lie to the law and even fill out a false statement full of lies. This really takes some guts.

Both of these Dobermans were very friendly, and very intelligent show animals, and were well known in and outside the United States.

I want to help my dear friends spread the word about this senseless murder. For anyone wanting to look at her web page or email her this is her link: www.skylock.com/litterbox.html.

Thank you for taking the time to read this sad story.

Love and care for your pets to the fullest, there are other people just as cruel as this man was.

God bless and may Chase and Kendall have a safe journey to the rainbow bridge, and may they rest in peace.
