Maurice Keniston

Former Libby businessman Maurice S. Keniston, 67, of Longmont, Colo., died on March 7, 2005, at LifeCare of Longmont.

He was born on Nov. 12, 1937, at Dickinson, N.D., to Charles (Bud) Keniston and Amy Rose Grogan Keniston.

Maurice grew up in Montana and after finishing high school enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy.

He worked in appliance sales before opening Keniston's GE Appriances at 408 Mineral Ave. in Libby.

Maurice married Audrey Taylor at Libby on May 30, 1975.

The Kenistons moved to Longmont in 1977 and Maurice worked in the security business, first for Longmont Foods and more recently for Maxtor.

An avid hunter and fisherman, Maurice also enjoyed reading, flower gardening, playing cards and working crossword puzzles.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include his wife Audrey, Longmont; his father Bud Keniston, Pateros, Wash.; son Brett Keniston and his wife Angela, Arvada, Colo.; daughters Lori Prince and her husband Rusty, Longmont; Rebecca Perrault and her husband Stephen, Helena, and Casey Nixon and her husband Rod, Columbia, S.C.; brothers Terry Keniston, Vancouver, Washl, David Keniston, Cashmere, Wash., and Bruce Keniston and his wife Judy, San Jose, Calif.; sisters Sharon Keniston, Jeanine Shenyer and her husband Neil, Patti Wolley and her husband Don, all of Pateros, and Sandy Stone and her husband Dick, Brewster, Wash.; six grandchildren, Jason Perrault, Tinna and Zoey Nixon and Rebecca, Kayla and Jeremy Prince.

Private memorial services were conducted. Cremation was entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Crematory.
