Leonard Howard

Leonard Paisley Howard, 81, of Libby, died on Tuesday, March 8, 2005.

He was born on Sept. 3, 1923, at Bauxite, Ark., to Leonard and Ota James Howard.

Leonard enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1941 and was honorably discharged in 1944.

Libby had been his home since 1993.

An unconventional man, Leonard believed that everyone was unique. He loved the beauty of every creature and admired the strength of what he called Mother Earth.

A gentle and colorful man, Leonard understood himself and who he was, and let other people be themselves, without judgment.

An avid cribbage player, Leonard will be missed.

Survivors include sister Lou Burrows, Booneville, Ark., three nieces and two nephews.
