Brandon Lee Backs

Brandon Lee Backs, 23, of Missoula, and formerly of Lander, Wyo., died on June 24, 2005, at his home in Missoula.

He was born on Sept. 24, 1981, at Cody, Wyo., to John and Martha Backs.

Brandon spent most of his school years at Lander, graduating from Lander Valley High School in 2000.

He moved to Montana in May 2004 and was employed by Flanagan Motors in Missoula.

Brandon enjoyed music, rock climbing, hiking, camping, hunting and fishing.

He was a talented guitar player and had written 14 songs.

Survivors include his father, John Backs, Libby; his mother Martha Nelson-Backs, Great Falls; step-mother Terry Backs, Libby; sister Desirae Backs, Missoula, grandfather Ray Backs, Altamont, Ill., and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Private memorial services are planned for 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, at Libby.
