How can we help with vet bills?

To the Editor:

After I read the letter written by Michele in last week's paper, I felt very sorry for her, her son and puppy Kano.

I don't know their family, but I'm sure the bills for the puppy are costly. I'm also sure there are others who feel as I do, and would like to help this family.

How does one go about helping? Special accounts at local banks and credit unions? Donation cans at local merchants and businesses?

Maybe someone who knows how could do this?
