Ron Rayome

Ronald R. Rayome, 66, lifelong resident of the Kootenai Valley, died on Friday, June 3, 2005, at St. John's Lutheran Hospital following a long illness.

Born at Libby on July 6, 1938, to Richard and Bernice Rayome, Ron was raised and educated at Libby, graduating from Libby High School with the Class of 1957.

He married Judy Riley on June 19, 1959 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Ron was employed by the J. Neils Lumber Company, St. Regis and Champion International. He also worked in construction on the Libby Dam Project, and later as a millwright in several locations.

He also worked as plant engineer and custodian at the Lincoln County Campus before retiring.

An avid outdoorsman, Ron enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and four-wheeling. He also enjoyed reading and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Judy, Libby, and their children, Ken Rayome and his wife Peggy, Teri Kelly and her husband Al, Barb Rayome, Cindy Brothers and her husband Les, all of Libby, and Jennie Ward and her husband Russ, Garner, N.C., his brother Bob Rayome and his wife Sue, Louisville, Ky., 23 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was from 1-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home.

Mass of the Resurrection is being celebrated at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Ray Hannigan as celebrant.
