Patricia Peterson

Patricia A. (Pat) Peterson, 52, of Libby, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

She was born on Jan. 6, 1953, at Libby, to Don and Lois Shea.

Pat grew up and was educated at Libby, graduating from Libby High School with the Class of 1971.

A longtime employee of the First American Title Company at Libby, Pat had been an escrow agent for more than 20 years.

Pat married Hans Peterson on Nov. 23, 1985.

Pat had a lifelong love of horses and raised and bred Fjord horses, winning many awards and ribbons throughout the years for her horses. She was instrumental in the founding and organization of the Fjord horse shows at Libby Nordicfest, which remains one of the very few official Fjord horse shows in the country.

She was also a member of the Professional Fjord Horse Association.

Pat was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her husband Hans, Libby; son Ryan M. Peterson, Reno, Nev.; her parents Don and Lois Shea, Libby; sisters Vickie Ramsey, Boise, Idaho, Donna McQueen, Kuna, Idaho, Betty Willman, Libby, and Deb Willman, Jamestown, N.D., and brother, Pete Shea, Austin, Texas.

Pat is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home Chapel.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-7 p.m. on Sunday.
