Gurine Wilkins

Gurine Wilkins, 54, died on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, at her home in Libby.

She was born to Ivan and Jean Williams on Feb. 6, 1951, at Kalispell, and was raised and educated at Libby, graduating from Libby High School in 1969.

Gurine married Don Wilkins on Nov. 28, 1969. They raised their family at Libby.

Always active as a volunteer in the community, Gurine served as director of the Libby Food Pantry and was an active volunteer with Hospice and the Libby Care Center.

She enjoyed the outdoors and flowers, as well as crafts. Most of all she enjoyed being a grandmother.

Gurine was preceded in death by sister Laurie Williams Hagen in 1985 and mother Jean Williams in 1991.

Survivors include her husband Don, Libby; sons Don Wilkins and his wife Niki, Kalispell, and Brian Wilkins and his wife Lisa, Libby; her father Ivan Williams, Libby, sister Glenda Williams and brother Glenn Williams, both of Libby and five grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday at the Kootenai Valley Church on Highway 37.

Interment services will follow at the City of Libby Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Nelson 7 Vial Funeral Home Chapel from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday and until noon on Friday.
