Jamie Lanham

Jamie Lanham, 16, of Troy, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, of injuries received in a motor vehicle accident near Troy.

Born April 23, 1989, at Marietta, Ohio, Jamie came to Troy with her family nine years ago and was in her junior year at Troy High School where she played basketball. She also had been active in other school activities including concert choir, junior class representative to the student council and also had been a current participant in Troy High School Close Up.

Jamie was a gentle and loving person who had a great love of the outdoors, her "zippy car" and animals including her horse, rabbit, cat, two dogs and bird.

Jamie is survived by her parents, Stacey and Howard Shaffer of Troy; a brother, Nathan McDonald of Alaska; grandparents Charles and JoAnne Lanham of Belpre, Ohio; her aunt, Stephanie Opie of Eldon, Mo.; her uncle, David Lanham of Belpre, Ohio; and a cousin, Shaundra Conner of Eldon, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Janice Taylor, in October.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 27, at the Troy Church of God. Arrangements are by Nelson & Vial Funeral Home.
