Ruth Fry

Ruth E. Fry, 95, of Troy, died on Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, at the Libby Care Center.

She was born on Dec. 11, 1909, at Hayden Lake, Idaho, to Rufus and Emma Getter Hadlow.

Ruth grew up at Hayden Lake and Troy, Idaho, where she attended school.

During World War II, Ruth worked in Seattle assembling airplanes.

She also worked as a cook in logging camps and restaurants.

After her marriage to Charles Chapel in Aberdeen, Wash., they moved to Troy.

In the early 1960's Ruth married Clifford Fry and they lived for a time in Shelby before returning to Troy.

Ruth enjoyed flowers, crocheting and embroidering.

Survivors include her children Pat Chapel and his wife Fern, Troy; Albert Chapel and his wife Lois, Troy; JoAnn Riedlinger and her husband Martin, Troy; Alton Chapel, Warden, Wash.; Leah Voorhies and her husband Richard, Shelby; her sister Wilma Dennis, Spokane, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted on Friday, Sept. 2, at 11 a.m. at the Troy Church of God.

Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. on Thursday.

Local arrangements are by the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home in Libby.
