Marion Shelley

Former Troy resident Marion F. Shelley, 89, died Aug. 17, 2005, at Eureka.

She was born on April 29, 1916, at Watford City, N.D., to Odin and Bertha Berntson.

Raised and educated at Watford, Marion married Jesse Shelley on Dec. 4, 1937, and they lived at Watford City, working in farming and agriculture. After moving to Montana, they lived first at Whitefish and Eureka before moving to Troy, their home for many years.

After the death of her husband Jesse in 1997, Marion moved to Eureka to live with a daughter.

She was preceded in death by daughter Lorraine Shelley, son Wayne Shelley and his wife Debbie and grandchildren Gerald Potter, Angie Bock and Jake Webster.

Survivors include her children, Mavis Potter, Libby; Grace Bock, Rexford, Rosalie Countryman, Eureka, and Dennis Shelley, Chehalis, Wash.; sisters Ida Landin and Esther Boreson, both of Whitefish, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marion was dearly loved by friends and family who are grateful for precious memories.

Visitation was from 1-8 p.m. on Friday.

Services were conducted at 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home in Libby.

Interment followed at Milnor Lake Cemetery.
