Esther Fosgate

Esther M. Fosgate, 85, of Libby, died on Monday, Aug. 15, 2005, at St. John's Lutheran Hospital.

She was born on Oct. 2, 1919, at Galesburgh, N.D., to William and Anna Burmeister Petz.

Esther grew up and attended school at Shell Lake, Wis.

After graduating from high school, Esther attended teachers' college at Rice Lake, Wis., earning a teaching degree.

She taught for a number of years at Clam Lake, Wis.

Esther married Durward Fosgate on March 1, 1946, at Cloquet, Minn.

They moved to Libby in 1991.

Esther enjoyed her flower garden, needlework and the simple things in life.

She was preceded in death by her husband Durward.

Survivors include her children, Larry Fosgate in Nevada; Lorna Jean Banks, Blaine, Neb., and Lonnie Fosgate, Libby; sisters Verna Norton in Wisconsin and Dorothy Nielsen, Minnesota; brothers Albert, Wisconsin, and Elmer, Oregon, 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 22, at the chapel.

Arrangements are under care of the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home.
