Joe Duffield

Joe C. Duffield, 89, of Libby, died on Sunday, April 24, 2005, at the Libby Care Center.

He was born on July 13, 1915, at Laurel, where he grew up and attended school.

He later lived at Havre, Big Arm, Rollins, North Crow, Charlo and Rexford before moving to Libby in 1969.

In his early years, Joe worked at farming and breaking horses. After moving to Libby he started sawing for the J. Neils Lumber Company and continued working in the woods until retirement.

He enjoyed hunting, playing the guitar and singing.

Survivors include his wife Juanita Duffield, Libby; children Brad Duffield and his wife Judy, Thompson Falls, Gloria Duffield, Libby, Beverly Ransdell, Mesquite, Ariz., grandchildren Randy Duffield and his wife Tersa, Sammy DeLapp, Deer Lodge, Tyson Ransdell and Justin Ransdell in California and three great-grandchildren.

Private family services will be conducted.

Local arrangements are by the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home.
