| October 22, 2004 12:00 AM

The Lincoln County Sheriff¹s Office is investigating a reported armed robbery that occurred Sunday night at the Eagles Lodge in Libby.

The county dispatcher received a 911 call at 11:18 p.m. from a male patron who said the lodge had just been held up by a man wearing a mask and brandishing a scoped rifle. The man said the robber sprayed him with pepper spray and put him in the men¹s bathroom and put the female bartender in the women¹s bathroom.

Officers from the sheriff¹s office and the Libby Police Department responded to the scene and reported having the building surrounded within 10 minutes of the call.

The man in the bathroom remained on the line with a dispatcher and reported that the woman in the other bathroom was talking to him through the wall and asking if help was coming.

Officers remained at the scene and entered the building around 1 a.m. to release the man and the woman from the bathrooms.

Officers searched the building and the surrounding area in an unsuccessful attempt to locate any suspects. According to information released by the sheriff¹s office, the suspect apparently fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
