Libby football team wins opener
Very exciting game in Libby tonight. The Loggers defeated Timberlake, Idaho, 26-22. The visitors almost pulled out a win in the end after scoring on a long pass play and then recovering an onside kick. But the Libby defense held on for the victory.

Yes, football arrives on Saturday
It's hard to believe that fall sports is here. The Loggers held their traditional "Watermelon Bowl" on Friday evening – an intrasquad scrimmage. I missed the first part of the scrimmage for personal reasons but caught the tail end in time to shoot a few photos. I'm going to interview the head coach on Monday for a season preview piece that will run in Friday's paper.
LHS boys soccer looks good
The Loggers look like they could have a pretty strong team this season. Eight returning starters – seven of those seniors. I watched their scrimmage on Saturday morning and although it can be tough to get much out of those, I think it's safe to say LHS will be in the playoff hunt. I'm working on a team preview for our next edition.
