Edward Richard Grable, 83, died on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, at Brookdale Nine Mile Facility in Spokane, Washington.

He was born February 16, 1935, to Wayne Ortho and Melva Grable in Kansas City, Missouri. Ed was number five among seven siblings.

Ed was 10 years old when the family moved to Elysian Fields, Texas, where he finished high school. After high school, Ed immediately joined the Navy to follow in the footsteps of his brothers. After four years of serving on aircraft carriers, Ed was honorably discharged.

Ed married Lorraine Horton and they both attended Multnomah School of the Bible in Portland, Oregon. After graduation from there, they both attended the University of Southern Oregon, where they both received their teaching credentials. After teaching school for three years, Ed became a pastor, serving in three different churches over a period of 30 years.

After the death of his wife, Lorraine, in 1998, Ed met a missionary in Ecuador, Joyce Stuck. In June of 1994, they were married. They spent four more years in ministry in Ecuador until they retired to Troy in 1998. They built a home on a piece of land that Ed owned out on Bull Lake Road.

Ed is survived by his wife Joyce; two sons, Steve and Mark; sister, Dorothy Willess; brother, John; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Faith Bible Church in Libby on Saturday, April 13 at 11 a.m.
