David Lee Griffiths, 72

David Lee Griffiths, 72 passed away at his home in Angeles City, Philippines on June 3, 2021. He was born on September 17, 1948 to Joyce Arlene Marshall and Dean Williams Griffiths in Salt Lake City, Utah. His family later moved to Malad, Idaho where he graduated in 1967.

David enlisted in the Navy on January 4, 1968 and sailed proudly on the USS Shelton DD790 where he tended the boilers. He was honorably discharged August 4th, 1971. Following his military service, he completed an apprenticeship with Boilermakers Local 182. He became a journeyman boilermaker in 1980, and worked in that profession until he retired.

David had a tender heart and always put everyone before himself. He lived to make others laugh by telling jokes and stories, he also enjoyed gold panning and fishing. His ultimate love was traveling and listening to music.

He was lucky enough to be on a permanent vacation in Angeles City, Philippines where he resided and was buried in the Clark Veterans Cemetery in Pampanga.

Survivors include his children: Lynne Griffiths Prior, Kimberly Griffiths, Kristin Griffiths, sister Connie Griffiths Hamilton (Kenny), her children: Tiffany Tennison (Scott), Dustin Gonzales (Stephanie). Aunt Carol Booth, cousin Brent Madson (Flossie) and former wife Barbara Hunsaker. David will also be lovingly remembered by partner Rosbie “Chassy” Erica, numerous grandchildren, extended family and friends. David was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Celebration of David’s life will be held on July 17th, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at 6262 West 4800 South, Hooper, UT 84315.
