Alvin L. Croucher

| July 30, 2021 7:00 AM

Alvin L. Croucher was born in Libby on Nov. 17, 1929. He died July 19, 2021.

Al moved around to different towns while growing up, but moved back to Libby after a short stint in the U.S. Army. In 1950, he met the love of his life, Wanda, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. They married and raised three children, Glenda Minnehan, Brian Croucher and Beth Feketi. Al had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

While living in Libby, Al started working at J. Neils Lumber Co. and later the St. Regis Paper Co., from which Al retired in 1975. Al and Wanda traveled in the camper bus he renovated to Anchorage, Alaska. They stayed there for several years before moving to Kalispell to fully retire.

They were snowbirds for several years, traveling to Mexico for extended stays. Al was a wheeler-dealer when it came to vehicles and was into stock cars, motorcycles and boats. He taught many of the neighborhood kids how to ski.

Al was adamant that there be no memorial service. No flowers please. If you would like to make a donation in Alvin’s name, please donate to the diabetes foundation.
