An Old U.S. Highway 2 resident told authorities that their nephew has come to their home when they are away and taking items.

Scam

A Shalom Drive resident reported receiving a letter announcing that her unemployment benefits would end that week. She suspected it was a scam as she had not applied for unemployment.

Animal complaint

A Troy resident reported a neighbor’s dog for acting aggressively.

Libby police officers warned a motorist for parking in the wrong direction near the intersection of 6th Street and California Avenue.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies warned a driver for speeding after responding to a suspicious vehicle call.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated suspicious activity near Pomeroy Trail Road.

An individual reported that one or more individuals broke into his log truck and stole the keys.

A Florence Road resident told authorities that a neighbor’s dog was barking day and night.

A county resident told Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies wanted a man, headed here from out of state, trespassed before he arrived.

A Kootenai River Road resident reported seeing smoke across the river.

A Pinewood Lane resident reported hearing what sounded like rapid shooting. Authorities received a second call from the area shortly thereafter complaining about fireworks.

A Manier Road resident told authorities that one or more individuals broke into their shop and stole tools.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A county resident reported harassment at the hands of an ex-partner. The ex-partner was sending text messages claiming the couple’s children were scared of her.

Drugs, drug paraphernalia

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a report of an active drug deal at a local store.

First responders in Troy headed up Yaak River Road for a trailer fire.

Criminal mischief

Libby police officers headed to the loading dock of a local business after receiving a report of an individual looting items.

Public safety

Libby police officers checked out a vehicle stopped along Jennings Haul Road. They determined the motorist was parked safely and resting in a sleeping bag.

Criminal trespass

A Cherry Creek Bluff Road resident told authorities that their neighbors were accessing a private road.

Theft

A Parmenter Drive resident reported the theft of ice fishing supplies from their home.

Suspicious person

A local medical facility asked for law enforcement to conduct extra patrols after a man was caught peering into windows that day. He became upset after being confronted, the staff told authorities.

Public safety

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a noise complaint from a Timber Lane resident. The resident said they heard what sounded like gunfire.

Burglary

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a burglary on Bootleg Road.

Public safety

A Reese Trailer Court resident reported a four-wheeler driving around the area erratically while pulling several children on a sled. Libby police officers spoke with the driver, who put the four-wheeler away.

Restraining order violation

Libby police officers responded to a local convenience store after receiving a trespassing report. The individual involved agreed to move along.

Disturbance

A caller reported a disturbance that occurred the day prior.

3:57 p.m.

Animal complaint

A caller said a man on Kilbrennan Lake Road left a dog out in the weather overnight and the animal froze to death.

9:26 p.m.

Suspicious vehicle

A Woodland Road resident reported a red car left parked and running near his house. The vehicle’s lights were shining into his home, he told authorities. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies found the vehicle’s owner, who had kept the vehicle running to keep his dog warm.

9:38 p.m.

Traffic stop

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Rochelle Styles, 30, on charges related to driving under the influence, failure to have insurance, expired registration and an improper lane change. Deputies made the arrest after a traffic stop near U.S. Highway 2 and Woodland Road.

10:21 p.m.

Suspicious activity

Libby police officers arrested Matthew Hollingsworth, 46, for charges related to driving under the influence after responding to a suspicious activity report on California Avenue. Staff at a local veterans organization heard a commotion in the alleyway behind the building. Responding officers said Hollingsworth became combative.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

An individual asked to speak with law enforcement regarding several text messages.

Theft

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a theft at a horse ranch.

3:04 p.m.

Public assistance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies gave a man walking near state Highway 37 a ride home.

3:22 p.m.

Burglary

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies headed to an abandoned property south of Libby after receiving a 911 call reporting three prowlers in the area. Deputies confronted the suspects and cleared the scene.

Theft

An Alpine Valley Road resident reported a burglary. She said the thieves took an Xbox.

A caller reported the possible theft of her check from her vehicle during the day.

Disturbance

Libby police officers headed to a Utah Avenue home after receiving a report of loud yelling.
