Suspicious vehicle

A suspicious vehicle returned to the area in front of the Lincoln County Detention Center.

2:27 a.m.

Drugs, drug paraphernalia

Libby police officers confiscated drug paraphernalia near a local medical center.

10:09 a.m.

Animal complaint

While taking care of a neighbor’s cat, a Hunts Mill Road resident came across a dead bat.

12:04 p.m.

Public safety

An individual told authorities that an 18-year-old waitress at a Eureka bar had potentially served alcohol to minors. The waitress failed to card patrons, the individual said.

12:10 p.m.

Child custody

An intoxicated man asked for help in retrieving his son from the boy’s uncle’s house. The man told authorities he was no longer welcome at the home.

2:40 p.m.

Public safety

A caller reported watching a large box fall off the back of a passing pickup truck near mile marker 58 of U.S. Highway 2. The box exploded upon impact, sending letters inside flying everywhere.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies helped a stranded motorist.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a disturbance on Farm to Market Road.

The Federal Aviation Administration requested help in locating an overdue aircraft. Federal authorities later established contact with the pilot.

Suspicious person

Libby police officers responded to a report of a man scaring customers at a local gas station. The man allegedly was walking around and “talking in tongues.” The man departed at the behest of authorities.

9:23 p.m.

Disturbance

Libby police officers arrived at a local lodging house after receiving a report of a couple yelling and screaming. The individuals agreed to keep the noise down for the night.

Public safety

Authorities received a report of Bowker Street residents setting off fireworks, potentially creating a fire hazard.

Suspicious person

Libby police officers received a report of a man acting odd outside of a gas station.

Public safety

A 911 caller reported getting followed closely by a pickup on U.S. Highway 2 and state Highway 56. The pickup would not pass the caller. Instead, the driver kept flashing the vehicle’s headlights.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A caller told authorities that a co-worker’s girlfriend kept harassing and threatening them.

Aug. 22

12:24 a.m.

Disturbance

Authorities responded to Timber Lane after a man called the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and asked for help removing his ex-girlfriend from his property. The woman also phoned authorities, telling them she had imbibed and was unable to leave as she could not drive. Deputies ended up arranging transportation for the woman.

12:31 a.m.

Suspicious activity

Eureka dispatch received a report of car alarm going off-and-on repeatedly.

9:39 a.m.

Animal complaint

A Spencer Hill Avenue resident said an aggressive dog attempted to jump her fence.

Missing person

Local authorities aided in searching for a family that had camped out in the area.

Authorities received a report of an animal bite near Pinkham Creek.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A Bull Lake Road resident told authorities that her neighbors refused to move garbage they left next to her home. They also yelled at her, the woman told Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies.

Criminal trespass

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Bull Lake Road for a report of an ongoing burglary. A resident caught the thieves in the act. They were pilfering from a home that is undergoing demolition.

6:15 p.m.

Suspicious person

Libby police officers intervened after the staff of a local restaurant accused a man of eating off the plates of other patrons. Officers asked the man not to loiter. He agreed to depart the scene.

6:20 p.m.

Animal complaint

Authorities received word of a dog bite that occurred several days earlier.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a local convenience store for a report of a man asking employees for a deputy. The man had been sitting outside the store for some time. He would not say why he needed law enforcement. The man later told deputies he needed advice on getting assistance.

A Granite Avenue resident told authorities that the neighbor’s dogs were barking.

A West 2nd Street resident asked authorities if anything could be done about a neighbor’s dogs, which constantly bark.

Traffic accident

Authorities responded to a driving under the influence accident near Indian Creek.

9:40 a.m.

Animal complaint

An East Oak Street resident asked for a wellness check on a neighbor’s dog. The adolescent caller suspected the dog suffered from two broken legs and is neglected.

12:40 p.m.

Criminal mischief

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a report of criminal mischief on Buckskin Trail.

5:22 p.m.

Suspicious person

Libby police officers investigated a report of two individuals walking in the Vista Avenue and Cabinet Heights Road area asking for money.

6:02 p.m.

Child abuse

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies assisted law enforcement in Lake County with a child abuse case with ties to Lincoln County.

6:36 p.m.

Suspicious activity

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an alleged kidnapping after a man told authorities his daughter had been kidnapped at knifepoint by a biker.

7:05 p.m.

Public assistance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies assisted a mother and child at the Central School building in Libby. The mother called authorities after her son was ensnared by a swing.

A Scotts Stroll resident asked to speak with law enforcement about her brother, who went missing four weeks prior.
