David M. Colclough, 86

On Oct. 3, 2020, David M. Colclough passed away at the age of 86, surrounded by his family.

Dave was born April 24, 1934, in Lynn, Mass., to Henry and Florence Colclough. He grew up in Henniker, N.H., and graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in forestry. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean occupation.

Dave married Joyce Clement in Henniker in 1958. Dave’s love of the outdoors drew him to Libby, where he started his career working for the U.S. Forest Service. Dave managed ranger districts throughout Montana and Idaho for more than 30 years. After retirement Dave worked for FEMA for 15 years and helped communities all over the U.S.

Dave was a charter member of the Troy Lion’s Club and a longstanding member of the Society of American Foresters.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Jacob Colclough. He is survived by his loving wife, MaryAnn Basarab; daughter, Pam Olague (Dan); sons, Alan Colclough (Karla), Keith Colclough; and stepdaughter Aimee Barlow (Mike). He leaves behind his grandchildren, Danielle and Tyler Olague, Jason Colclough, and Isabella and Carter Barlow.

There will be a private service with his family on top of Mount Henry in Yaak.
