9:09 a.m.

Animal complaint

A Parmenter Drive resident told authorities that a neighbor’s chickens were in his yard again and digging up new grass. Officials informed the resident that animal control does not handle chickens and offered suggestions for addressing the situation. The resident then reported the neighbor’s dog for coming onto his property and tearing up garbage. Animal control arrived on scene and warned the neighbor for having a dog at-large.

10:48 a.m.

Fire

A 911 caller reported a fire in Eureka. Authorities believe it may have been a controlled burn by U.S. Forest Service personnel.

Property

Officials recovered unopened syringes near Pioneer Road.

2:29 p.m.

Public safety

A Park Street resident reported a reckless driver, telling Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies that the motorist was racing and passing other vehicles.

2:44 p.m.

Accident

A motorist reported accidentally striking several mailboxes near Kootenai River Road. The motorist told authorities he was fixing the mailboxes and wanted to alert authorities in case anyone called to complain.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A caller reported being threatened by another individual after his cattle wandered onto nearby property.

Criminal mischief

Dispatchers in Eureka passed along a report of a motorist ramming and damaging a fence near Loon Lake Road.

Criminal mischief

A Main Avenue resident reported juveniles throwing tomatoes at him and his house.

11:02 p.m.

Pubic safety

Libby police officers warned a group of teenagers to keep off the road after an individual reported a group of juveniles riding bicycles in the middle of U.S. Highway 2.

11:51 p.m.

Suspicious person

A Falls Creek Road resident told authorities that an intoxicated woman had shown up at her house demanding the return of her phone. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies transported the woman home.

12:14 a.m.

Public assistance

A casino patron told Libby police officers that an intoxicated man had threatened him.

3:28 a.m.

Animal complaint

A Montana Avenue resident reported a dog barking for several hours.

8:33 a.m.

Unattended death

First responders were summoned to a U.S. Highway 2 residence for a report of a woman not breathing and cold to the touch.

9:05 a.m.

Theft

Troy dispatch relayed a report of a stolen game cam.

Child abuse

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office personnel investigated a report of child abuse.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to White Avenue for a report of an argument between two men. U.S. Border Patrol agents informed local authorities that one of the men involved was an illegal immigrant and requested that deputies arrest him. Deputies detained the man to await pickup.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A caller reported receiving harassing text messages from a former family member.

Public assistance

A caller reported a train hitting a cow near Wolf Creek.

Theft

A caller reported spotting a woman taking items off of the loading dock of a Libby business.

Oct. 18

3:06 a.m.

Public safety

A 911 caller told authorities that his wife just left the home in a red truck while intoxicated. The caller phone back a few minutes later to tell Libby police officers that his wife had returned, she had just moved the vehicle.

3:24 p.m.

Animal complaint

A caller reported that a local animal rescue group had not kept a promise to her.

3:59 p.m.

Theft

A caller reported a “Dumpster diver” in the rear of a Libby business. Responding Libby police officers warned the individual.

6:50 p.m.

City ordinance violation

Libby police officers investigated a city ordinance violation near the intersection of Mineral Avenue and 1st Street.

7:04 p.m.

Disturbance

A caller told authorities that her sister had just shown up. The woman allegedly had a gun pointed at her by her boyfriend, who had been drinking. Responding Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Joseph Schrieber, 37, on a partner or family member assault charge.

9:20 p.m.

Public assistance

A caller reported getting a phone call from her daughter. The younger woman reported abuse at the hands of her boyfriend, but said she was too scared to contact law enforcement. The mother was calling on her behalf.

9:32 p.m.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a location near U.S. Highway 2 for a report of an intoxicated man wielding a gun.

11:17 a.m.

City ordinance violation

Libby police officers cited a local business for blocking an alley.

1:51 p.m.

Public safety

A caller reported two young girls riding on the tailgate of a truck near McKay Street.

4:12 p.m.

Animal complaint

A caller reported that their neighbor was letting his dogs use her yard as a bathroom.

6:35 p.m.

Traffic violation

Montana Highway Patrol troopers arrested John Paul, 60, on a driving under the influence charge after a traffic stop near Farm to Market Road.

8:33 a.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A caller told Libby police officers that her ex-partner was harassing her at her job.

11:15 a.m.

Criminal trespass

A caller reported a trespasser on his property near Snowshoe Mine.

12:27 p.m.

Suspicious vehicle

A caller asked Libby police officers to run the license plates of a vehicle that had been left in the parking lot of a local housing complex for more than a week. Officers told the manager of the complex that she could have the vehicle towed.

4:57 p.m.

Disturbance

A 911 caller reported having problems with her neighbor near Sinclair Creek.

9:42 p.m.
