9:46 a.m.

Animal complaint

A postal carrier reported finding a dog with its chain embedded in its neck at the top of Granite Lake Road. The animal reportedly was pinned to the ground. Authorities freed the dog, took it to a veterinarian and then the shelter.

10:02 a.m.

Animal complaint

A black and white speckled dog was reunited with its owner after an individual travelling down U.S. Highway 2 found the animal on the loose.

10:44 a.m.

Criminal trespass

A Farm To Market Road resident reported that an unknown individual came onto their property and rummaged through her vehicle. Nothing was missing from the vehicle. The resident requested an extra law enforcement patrol in the future.

Animal complaint

A Pioneer Road resident reported that a neighbor’s dog was in his yard. It is an ongoing problem, the resident said.

Fraud

Authorities investigated a report of a bad check.

A Park Street resident reported the theft of property from his shed.

Warrant

Authorities arrested Benjamin W. Dobrowsky on an outstanding warrant near a restaurant in Troy. Dobrowsky was held on a $1,000 bond and his vehicle was towed.

Traffic stop

A motorist stopped near Balsam Elementary School was cited for speeding and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

Authorities responded to a report of a vehicle off the road near U.S. Highway 93 and Meadow Creek Road.

Drugs

Authorities investigated a report of drugs or drug paraphernalia on Conifer Road.

Theft

An East 8th Street resident reported being accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of movies.

Agency assistance

Local authorities transported an unidentified individual for a drug test while aiding another agency.

Criminal mischief

An Idaho Avenue resident reported that an individual slashed his tires during the night.

Animal complaint

An East Lincoln Boulevard resident called to speak with a deputy regarding an ongoing issue with the neighbor’s dogs.

Authorities responded to a silent panic alarm at a local financial institution. Libby police officers later learned an employee accidentally hit the alarm.

Authorities responded to U.S. Highway 2 after a Troy resident reported a man trying to enter a home without permission.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies detained a woman in Eureka for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

A caller reported seeing a woman struggling in a vehicle on U.S. Highway 2. The caller suspected the woman was either drunk or suffering from a medical condition.

Assault

Troy police arrested Brandie Shelton, 44, after responding to an alleged assault on Riverside Avenue.

12:49 a.m.

Suspicious person

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a report of a suspicious person after receiving a call from an East Lincoln Boulevard resident who said someone had gone through his pickup truck. The suspect was seen running down to the railroad tracks near a local hospital.

Suspicious activity

Libby police responded to a report of two suspicious individuals “skulking” about town.

11:43 a.m.

Public safety

A caller reported an erratic driver headed toward Libby. The motorist was tailgating, passing unsafely and driving at a high speed.

Civil complaint

A man spoke with Libby police regarding his girlfriend. The man said she does not live with him, but had been increasingly leaving her belongings at his house. She now was refusing to leave the residence, he said.

An individual reported a noise complaint to Libby police.

Libby police officers investigated a report of a man walking through the parking lot of Libby High School clad only in a grey jacket.
