Libby City Council reappointed several familiar faces to the municipality’s planning board and zoning commission March 2.

In a unanimous vote, the elected officials returned Roberta McCanse, Virginia Kocieda and Mark Andreasen to the board and commission. McCanse is a city council appointee while Kocieda and Andreasen are resident freeholders.

The trio boasts prior experience serving on Libby’s planning board and became members of the city’s zoning commission, formed in December. During its creation, city councilors opted to ask members of the existing planning board to serve on the commission.

City Councilor Brian Zimmerman made the motion to approve the reappointments. City Councilor Kristin Smith seconded it. There was no public comment on the move.

Following the vote, Mayor Brent Teske put out another call for applications to join the municipal committees. Both the planning board and zoning commission are short a member despite attempts to advertise the position through local media.

Applicants must reside in Libby.

“If you know somebody interested, encourage them,” Teske said.
