Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Park Street for a report of a disturbance. A caller told authorities that a woman armed with a gun had threatened to shoot her. Deputies separated the individuals involved.

Scam

An East 3rd Street resident reported receiving a call purporting to be from a popular computer repair service that was, in fact, a scam.

May 13

12:05 a.m.

Disturbance

A Park Street resident reported a truck without a muffler racing around neighborhood. Responding law enforcement personnel later located the truck, but it was unoccupied.

1:44 a.m.

911 call

A 911 caller requested a ride to Troy after imbibing too much alcohol in Libby. Dispatchers gave the caller the phone number for a local cab service.

4:53 a.m.

Public safety

BNSF officials alerted authorities to a malfunctioning railroad crossing in Troy. A crew was sent to conduct repairs.

8:44 a.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A caller reported suffering harassment from his sister in Libby.

9:08 a.m.

Fish and game

A 911 caller reported a bald eagle that was stuck in a tree.

Suspicious activity

A caller reported a man at the door of an elderly relative in a neighboring home. The man was trying to get inside to clean the carpets, the caller reported. Authorities determined the man was a vacuum salesperson.

Libby police officers responded to a local supermarket for a report of a theft.

A Kootenai Drive resident reported the theft of a chainsaw from his shed the weekend prior.

Libby police officers handled a shoplifting case at a local supermarket.

Disturbance

A Waterfront Road resident asked Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies to speak with a neighbor about playing loud music. The caller complained that the neighbors ignored her requests to keep the volume of the music down. Officials informed the caller that there was no county noise ordinance.

6:18 p.m.

Traffic accident

Multiple public safety agencies responded to a rollover on U.S. Highway 2 near a local tree nursery. One individual was taken to an area medical center.

8:04 p.m.

Disturbance

An anonymous caller reported hearing gunshots near Crossway Avenue. The noise was scaring her children, she said.

Animal complain

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies wrangled a loose cow near Iowa Flats Road.

Disturbance

An anonymous caller reported an individual for playing loud music near his campsite at Warland Creek Campground.

Sex crime

A caller asked to speak with law enforcement regarding a sex crime involving her teenage daughter.

A Lincoln County resident received word that her debit card was used to make a $220 purchase from a Walmart location in Texas.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A caller in North Dakota told authorities that individuals living in the Libby area were harassing her following a shooting incident the week prior.

10:30 a.m.

Public assistance

A Parmenter Drive resident told authorities that while felling trees, a neighbor took down the fence in the rear of her property. She needed to leave for several hours and was concerned her horse might get loose.

11:08 a.m.

City ordinance violation

Libby Police officers warned a Dakota Avenue resident for allowing weeds to grow tall.

Libby Police officers investigated a city ordinance violation on Utah Avenue.

12:10 p.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A security guard at a local supermarket asked to have a Troy man trespassed from the store. Upset that the store did not have everything on his shopping list, the man was threatening to return with a gun and shoot up the place.

12:17 p.m.

Traffic accident

Montana Highway Patrol troopers attempted to locate a semi-trailer truck after a woman reported seeing it strike and damage an electrical pole at an area convenience store. The woman said she took video of the incident. A crew from the utility company was sent to assess the damage.

2:27 p.m.

Assault

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of children throwing rocks near Timber Lane. One of the rock’s had hit and injured a 7-year-old child. Deputies gave a talk to all of the individuals involved.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

Libby Police officers investigated a stalking accusation.

Theft

A Spencer Hill Avenue resident reported discovering that her mail had been rifled through. Some of the letters were opened, but placed back into her mailbox. She suspected several checks were stolen. The resident called back later to tell authorities that her neighbor had brought over a few items of mail mistakenly delivered to her, including a package with her unemployment check in it.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A Montana Avenue resident reported a man for harassing her and her children. They were on their property when the harassment began, she told Libby Police officers.

5:45 p.m.

Drugs, drug paraphernalia

A Lewis Loop resident asked to speak with law enforcement regarding possible drug dealing.

8:03 p.m.

Theft

An inmate asked to speak with a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputy about concerns he had that someone was selling his property.

Libby Police officers received a report of a possible drug deal at a local convenience store.

May 15

3:51 a.m.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a possibly violent disturbance on Minnesota Avenue. The individuals involved were later separated.

9 a.m.

Public safety

Libby Police officers responded to a Commerce Way residence after an apartment dweller reported hearing a commotion in the unit below. She was worried about the health and safety of a child who lived there. Investigating officers determined the noise was related to verbal discipline.

11:37 a.m.

Suspicious activity

A caregiver on Woodland Heights Road reported a man in a white sports utility vehicle with a black insignia was out front trying to make rug shampoo appointments and sell vacuum cleaners.

1:09 p.m.

Criminal trespass

The owner of a property on Pioneer Road told authorities that individuals were coming onto the land at night, moving items around and leaving trash. Neighbors have kept an eye out for the trespassers, but the interlopers just “cuss” at them whenever they try to confront them.

Animal complaint

Authorities received a report of a cat bite.

Suspicious person

Libby Police officers investigated a report of a person apparently passed out at city tennis courts. Investigators determined the individual was in the area for a court date and was moving on.

3:05 p.m.

Fire

Authorities received a 911 call reporting a billow of steam or smoke rising up out of the old wrecking yard building near U.S. Highway 2 and Whiskey Hill. First responders determined that the furnace in the building had started up.

5:28 p.m.

Criminal mischief

A Cecil Drive resident reported finding her mailbox destroyed and left on a nearby hillside. The incident occurred during the night.

Animal complaint

BNSF personnel reported a herd of cattle heading toward the tracks near Wolf Prairie.

Disturbance

Libby Police officers investigated the report of an explosion-like sound emanating from the cemetery.
