Feb. 3

12:23 a.m.

Theft

A Libby Creek resident reported that his chainsaw had gone missing after he received a guest in his home.

10:16 a.m.

Theft

A caller reported discovering her parents’ pain medications went missing. The caller serves as their caretaker.

10:44 a.m.

Animal complaint

A California Avenue resident told authorities that his neighbor was neglecting his “many cats.”

11:12 a.m.

Theft

A caller reported that about 20 conveyor belts were taken from a building on Lincoln County Port Authority property.

12:02 p.m.

Public safety

A man admitted to a local hospital asked to file a complaint about his caregiver and his living conditions.

1:28 p.m.

Suspicious activity

Libby police investigated a report of a home window being broken near the intersection of 6th Street and California Avenue.

3:21 p.m.

Theft

A Granite Creek Road resident reported the theft of firewood.

7:30 p.m.

Disturbance

Libby police responded to a report of a fight in progress near the intersection of U.S. Highway 2 and Louisiana Avenue. The caller later told authorities that the two men had separated.

Feb. 5

11:12 a.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A caller asked to speak with a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputy about a harassment case dating back to the fall. There was no such case on file.

11:55 a.m.

Animal complaint

A Pioneer Road resident reported a dead deer in a neighbor’s yard. The caller suspected the neighbor’s puppy killed the animal.

12:36 p.m.

Fire

Emergency responders headed to Avenue B after a report of a fire following an explosion. Officials with the Libby Volunteer Fire Department later requested an ambulance crew to treat an individual who suffered smoke inhalation.

1:31 p.m.

Fish and game

A Kootenai River Road resident reported a sick deer in his carport.

6:37 p.m.

Traffic accident

Officials responded to a reported hit-and-run in the parking lot of a local business.

7:02 p.m.

Disturbance

A Troy resident reported an unruly daughter-in-law. She allegedly was argumentative and acting threateningly.

10:01 p.m.

Suspicious activity

Authorities investigated a report of a noise that sounded like an explosion near the railroad tracks at the 2nd Street Extension.

10:15 p.m.

Suspicious vehicle

Authorities investigated an unoccupied, parked vehicle.

Feb. 6

Civil complaint

A caller requested help in getting a resident removed from a lodging house. The caller expressed concern that the woman was a troublemaker and a smoker. Authorities advised him that it was a matter for the courts. The caller told authorities the woman hit him the day prior and believed she was headed to Libby to report him. A woman later arrived to report that a man had grabbed her and held her in place.

11:43 a.m.

Civil complaint

A Libby resident reported that his father was keeping his fishing gear, valued at more than $100, from him. The individual did not know his father’s address, but told authorities he would attempt to retrieve the equipment on his own.

11:54 a.m.

Fish and game

A Parmenter Avenue resident reported seeing a deer pacing in a neighbor’s yard. The deer did not appear sick.

12:26 p.m.

Public assistance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to conduct a welfare check on a man hitchhiking from the Yaak to Washington State. The individual was distraught when he last spoke with relatives.

1:13 p.m.

Property

A card was recovered at a local bakery and turned over to law enforcement personnel, who contacted its owner.

2:16 p.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A county resident called to report harassment via an online social media website.

2:53 p.m.

Disturbance

A local drinking establishment asked Libby police to respond for a no trespass order.

3:17 p.m.

Scam

A U.S. Highway 2 resident reported a scam wherein they received overpayment for items via check and was asked to send the change as cash to an out-of-state address. Both checks received had “void” written on them.

3:46 p.m.

911

A 911 call was disconnected. When authorities dialed the number back, a child answered and they could hear laughter on the line. Officials later made contact with a woman who said her child momentarily had taken the phone.

4:09 p.m.

Theft

Authorities received a report of stolen beer from Vicks Lane.

4:37 p.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A caller told authorities that two of his employees had reported being stalked and harassed by a third employee. One said that her home had been filmed. The other said they received harassment via a social media website.
