Evelyn Marie Carr

| April 21, 2020 8:38 AM

After fighting a courageous battle with cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Evelyn Marie (Sundt) Carr went to stay with her Lord on March 27, 2020. Evelyn was born to Melvin and Dorothy (Singleton) Sundt on Sept. 4, 1944, in Kalispell.

On Nov. 15, 1960, Evelyn married the love of her life, Lloyd Carr, and began a lifetime journey of memories. They moved to Libby in 1966. There they raised their children and owned and operated Carr’s Towing and Repair and Mountain Magic Motel.

Evelyn was a hardworking woman with a very big heart. She always had a pot of coffee on and her door remained open to any and all that might want to drop in.

Evelyn loved camping and spending time with family playing cards and enjoying the outdoors. She was an avid lover of putting together jigsaw puzzles. Later in life, when her fingers began to fail her, she continued her favorite activity on her iPad, thanks to the Magic Jigsaw puzzle app.

She loved owls and collected many of them. The best part of her owl collection was that you could ask about a certain owl and she would tell you the story of it.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; son, Daniel Ray; daughter Karen Sue; her parents, Melvin and Dorothy Sundt; and her brothers, Donald and Jack.

She is survived by her children: Lori (David) Weisz, Doug (Margi) Carr, Darrin Carr; and brother Melvin (Lyndal) Sundt. Evelyn has eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Because of the coronavirus pandemic a celebration of life will be held at a later time.
