'Just some thoughts' from Care Center resident

| March 1, 2019 3:00 AM

As I wheel myself around in my wheelchair, I see a lot and hear a lot of lonely people, most of which are 20-to-30 years my senior, as I am probably the youngest guest here.

It just makes me sad that some of the guests here are put in here and forgotten. I can see it on some of their faces.

If you have a loved one that you truly love and care about, be sure and come see them as often as you can make the effort.

Don’t let them die in here forgotten.

I know some in here have lost some or all of their memory and may not know who you are, but you know who they are.

I have only been in here two short months and I already can see how lonely this place can be. Sure the staff at this facility is great at making you feel welcome and at home, but it’s not the same as family.

I’m not saying I know all situations, but for the most part, if you can make the effort and put a smile on their face, do it.

Just my thoughts.

P.S. Keep in mind maybe not all, but some parents and grandparents were there for you growing up.
