A symbol of the human world

| June 21, 2019 4:00 AM

I thought I would comment on the flag on Northwest Peak.

I worked in Libby for 35 years, and live here because the natural world is what I enjoy most, just like Tom Horelick and Bob Hosea.

But I really don’t want to walk several miles, enjoying the natural world, and come upon a symbol of the current human world, a flag. That’s not why I was there, to be reminded of the human world.

If it is for honor and respect, the same could hold true true with putting flags on tops of lots of mountains around here.

In that regard, my father lost his left elbow in WWII, and my grandson was injured while serving in Afghanistan. I have honor and respect.
