A Libby woman faces a slew of charges after Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies found her in a stolen vehicle outside of an Avenue B home Dec. 22.

Authorities charged Alicia Dawn Carver, 28, of no fixed address, with theft exceeding $1,500, criminal possession of dangerous drugs and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.

Her bail was set at $25,000 in Lincoln County Justice Court on Dec. 23.

Deputy James Derryberry wrote in an affidavit that authorities located the stolen 2007 Toyota Corolla in the rear of the home at 254 Avenue B, Libby about 4:45 a.m. Carver was inside, Derryberry wrote.

Detective Brandon Holzer noticed a syringe on the floor beneath the driver’s seat as he arrested Carver, according to court documents.

Deputies later searched the vehicle and found a loaded syringe, filled with a brown substance that initially tested positive for heroin.

After interviewing suspects and witnesses — unidentified in the court documents — Derryberry concluded the syringe belonged to Carver and that she likely was using drugs in the vehicle.

He also determined that Carver was behind the alleged theft of the Toyota Corolla.

Carver is being held at the Lincoln County Detention Center.

A preliminary hearing on the case has been scheduled for Jan. 8.
