Survey

Lincoln County Public Libraries seeks feedback about its libraries and services. People that return a completed survey to any branch in Libby, Troy or Eureka will receive a free tote bag while supplies last.

Closure

All branches will be closed Sept. 17 to Sept. 22 for computer updates, maintenance and staff training.

Events

Preschool story time will be at Libby Library Tuesdays at 10:15 a.m., Troy Library Fridays at 11:15 a.m., and Eureka Library Thursdays at 11:30 a.m.

Chess games will be Saturdays at Troy Library from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sept. 7, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.: Libby Friends of the Library will hold its monthly book sale, featuring many new-to-its-collection books, an assortment of audio and videotapes and “surprise features” for the month.

Sept. 8, 10 a.m.: Homeschool Hour will be held at Troy Library, featuring an educational workshop. Participants are encouraged to display their work, and parents can network and share ideas and curriculum.

Sept. 10, noon to 2 p.m.: Adopt-a-Pet Day with Kootenai Pets for Life takes place at Libby Library. People can play with some of the shelter’s adoptable dogs, learn about the adoption process and enter a raffle to win prizes.

Sept. 28: Amnesty Day. Fines will be waived for all items turned in that are less than 90 days overdue and in good condition.

Sept. 29, 11 a.m.: The monthly book discussion, “A Hot Drink and A Good Book,” takes place at Libby Library and features Kate Moore’s “Radium Girls,” an inspiring tale of young women exposed to the “wonder” substance of radium and their strength when faced with almost impossible circumstances. Copies are available at the library.
