Senior Commodities for Libby residents will be distributed Thursday, Oct. 25 at VFW Post 1548 in Libby from 10 a.m. to noon.

The event is not a veterans program, and parties must be Libby residents 60 years or older who meet the program income requirements.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s 2018 guidelines, commodity recipients must be at or below 130 percent of the poverty level.

For a household of one, the upper limit is an annual income of $15,782 or a weekly income of $304. Each additional household member raises the upper limit by $5,616 for annual and by $108 for weekly income, such that two people living together must not receive more than $21,398 a year or $412 a week in order to be eligible.
