Donald Lee Snyder

Donald Lee Snyder, 85, of Rochester, Washington passed away Oct. 27, 2018 at Providence Hospital in Centralia, Washington.

Don was born July 31, 1933 in Chillicothe, Ohio to Lauren Lee Snyder and Ruth Marie (Jacobs) Snyder. He graduated from Waverly High School in Pike County, Ohio in 1950 at the young age of sixteen. He served in the US Navy from 1952 to 1956 as a skilled mechanic aboard the USS Lexington.

Don holds a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Ohio, a master’s degree in Psychology from Eastern Washington University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from City University.

Don worked as a clinical psychologist in Libby and Chehalis, Washington for much of his career before retiring after serving 15 years as program administrator for the State of Washington.

Don enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting, fishing and camping. Don loved to spend time with his wife and children, and he continued to seek opportunities to continue his education.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marlene; his sons Jeff and his wife Judy of Port St Lucie, Florida, and Greg and his wife Terri of Denver, Colorado. Don is also survived by his six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

At this time, a service and burial plans have not yet been arranged.
