Idaho man hurt in boating collision on Bull Lake

A kayaker reported hit by a motor boat on Bull Lake Friday night was flown to Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene and released the following day.

Capt. Lee Anderson of Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks did not describe the victim’s condition or injuries, citing the ongoing investigation, but said by email that it was a man from Idaho.

The cause of the incident was still under investigation as well, he wrote.

The incident was reported 9:06 p.m. Friday and occurred east of the boat launch at Bad Medicine Campground about 200 feet from shore, Anderson wrote. The victim was flown to the medical center by helicopter about 9:36 p.m.

The victim was discharged from the medical center Saturday afternoon, Anderson wrote.

The incident garnered a large response from various local agencies, including Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement, Bull Lake Fire and Rescue, Troy Volunteer Ambulance, Troy Volunteer Fire and Rescue and Life-Flight from Idaho, Anderson wrote.
