Spelling bee held at Kootenai Valley Christian School

Students from Spokane, Washington and Sandpoint, Idaho traveled to Libby Feb. 2 to participate in the Association of Christian Schools International District Spelling Bee, hosted by Kootenai Valley Christian School.

The winners from Kootenai Valley Christian School were as follows:

First grade: first place Caelan Gray; fourth place Lilyanna Harcourt.

Second grade: first place Thorin Nixon.

Third grade: second place Zoe Warner; fourth place Ignacio Guerra.

Fourth grade: third place Augustine Bailey.

Fifth grade: third place Warren Paulsen; fourth place Aaron Thomas.

Seventh grade: fourth place James Warner.

Eighth grade: fourth place Mikaliana O’Rourke.

In the Association of Christian Schools International District Spell-Off for fifth through eighth graders, Aaron Thomas of Kootenai Valley Christian School placed third, qualifying to compete in the regional spelling bee in Battle Ground, Washington, later this month.

The event was officiated by staff from Valley Christian School, Summit Christian Academy, Southside Christian School, Sandpoint Christian School and Kootenai Valley Christian School.
