Lacey Hemman of the Cabinet Peaks Medical Center Rehabilitative Services Department recently was certified as a specialist in strength and conditioning through the International Sports Science Association, according to a recent news release.

The certification qualifies Hemman through her work “to enable athletes to expand the capacity of their bodies, while remaining strong and injury free,” she states in the news release. “This certification will help implement a new technique to facilitate injury prevention and strengthening for the communities of Libby and Troy.”

In addition to strength conditioning, the certificate program teaches the principles of athletic assessment, athletic nutrition and sports psychology, among others, and includes classes in anatomy, physiology, endurance training and psychology.

Hemman has been working in physical therapy for four years and at Cabinet Peaks Medical center for two.
