Brooke Thornton Jaqueth

Brooke Thornton Jaqueth passed away on March 6, 2017, in Missoula, due to complications from pneumonia. She was born in Libby, on Dec. 27, 1961 to Bob and Wanda Jaqueth, the fourth of five children. Brooke attended school in Libby; she was the Salutatorian of the class of 1979; just second in a class of 208 students.

Brooke attended Humboldt State University in Arcata, California, where she studied oceanography. She was also involved in stage band, marching band and coaching youth soccer. Summers were spent working in the family business.

She enjoyed walking and hiking the many trails in our area, and she especially loved companion dogs.

Brooke moved to Missoula in her mid-twenties where she became an advocate for persons with disabilities and lobbied for them in Helena.

Brooke is survived by her siblings; Mark Jaqueth of Missoula, Jan Turpen (Cody) of Tulsa, Okla., Lynn Jaqueth of Libby, Amanda Lacek (John) of Gillette, Wyo., an aunt, Kaye Jaqueth Watson of Libby, a cousin Rick Jaqueth (Leslie) of Libby, five nieces, three nephews and many dear friends.

A celebration of Brooke’s life will be held at a future date in Missoula.
