Cabinet Peaks Medical Center on Wednesday celebrated its designation as one of the “Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals” in the nation, an achievement announced in late February.

Bruce Whitfield, Cabinet Peaks Medical Center CEO, said the designation signifies that the center is a top performer as measured across inpatient share ranking, outpatient share ranking, cost, charge, quality, outcomes, patient perspectives and financial stability.

“It provides a level of assurance to the community that CPMC is performing at a very high level compared to other critical access hospitals in the nation,” Whitfield said via email. “We are delivering on our mission of providing quality and compassionate care to our patients.”

iVantage Health Analytics in conjunction with The Chartis Center for Rural Health make the annual designation to note the medical facilities that “play a key role in providing a safety net to communities across America,” according to a news release.

“This designation validates to the community that the hospital is providing exceptional care in an efficient and effective manner for all of the patients in South Lincoln County,” Whitfield wrote. “Residents can be proud that they have an excellent and well run facility right here in Libby and they can stay home for care rather than traveling out of town.”
