Elmore B. Richey

| June 2, 2017 4:00 AM

Elmore B. Richey, 82, went home to be with Jesus Thursday, May 25, 2017. He was born Jan. 17, 1935 to Cecil and Eleanor Richey. He was a devout Christian, who read his Bible, prayed and listened to Gaither gospel music daily.

He was a hard worker and had been employed at the Zonolite mine in Libby and the Neumont mine in Elko, Nevada, among other places. He had recently moved back to Troy to be close to family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; his parents, Cecil and Eleanor Richey; his sister Maribeth Faris; and good friends.

He leaves behind three children: daughter Colleen Johnson and husband, Don, of Missoula; son Ken Richey and wife Joanne, of Careywood, Idaho; and son Kelvin Richey and fiance Paige of Troy. He also leaves behind five grandchildren Christy Johnson, Merry Smith, Angela Reatz, Kaleb Richey and Willow Mae Richey (soon to be born); nine great-grandchildren Donald, Maellen, Tyler, Genevi, Xavier, Alexander, Robert Bjorn, Alida and Brynja, who he enjoyed teasing with his gruff voice and cane and sharing his horehound candy; his beloved sister, Carolyn Sue Noble; four nephews Richard, Lorin, Glenn and Jeff; and niece Laurie Sue.

He will be loved and remembered always.

Private family services are being held. Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.
