A road project entailing chip sealing on the Forest Development Road #228 is tentatively set to start Tuesday, July 25 weather and other conditions permitting. The work will be done on 28.5 miles of road and is expected to last five days.

“Heavy equipment will be present and expect minor delays as a pilot car will be present,” the news release states. “Sweepers will also be about after surfacing placement and approximately two weeks later a paint truck will apply the pavement striping.”

“The chip seal will be soft for a week or so therefore we are requesting people drive 25 miles per hour or less during the cure period as this is good for the road surface,” Ken Wickward, Libby District Civil Engineer, states in the news release. “Sudden starts and stops can also damage the surface materials.”
