Libby Volunteer firefighters on Monday helped Libby Volunteer Ambulance personnel rescue a woman who slipped and fell alongside Libby Creek.

The incident happened near milemarker 2 on Libby Creek Road, firefighter Scott Beagle said. A family was walking on the rocks along the creek about 2 or 3 p.m. when the woman slipped and fell and hurt her ankle, he said.

The ambulance crew called for additional people to help move the woman from the creek to the road about 100 yards away, Beagle said. A chainsaw was used to clear a path for six people to carry her out on a backboard, he said.
