The Loggers boys basketball team displayed their increasingly strengthening offense this weekend when they rolled past both Ronan and the Troy Trojans.

At Libby, the dominant team proved to be the Libby Loggers, who with brute force and size shut down the visiting Trojans.

The Loggers tallied a steady succession of scores in a 23-6 first quarter that guided their way to a 53-21 victory over the Trojans.

Troy managed to gain some momentum and defense over the Loggers through the game, until the fourth quarter when they couldn’t score a single point.

The Loggers’ defense reigned supreme, with an overall tally of 29 rebounds over Troy’s 13 and five steals to Troy’s zero.

For Troy, Dillon Savage led the team with eight points, with Mason Chapel tallying six, Dylan Cummings scoring five and Zach Cotten adding two.

Logger Ryggs Johnston led the team with 14 points with Stephen Williams not far behind with 11. Ryan Nagle tallied 10, Erik Lauer scored eight, Colin Maloney and Brian Peck each added four and Gabe Peck scored two.

The Libby boys now hold an 8-5 overall record with a 4-2 conference.

ON SATURDAY AT TROY, the Bluehawks Defeated the Trojans after outscoring them in the second quarter.

Troy’s Dillon Savage had the game of the night with 22 points.

No further information was available at press time.

ON SATURDAY, THE LOGGERS made an 11-point lead through rebounds to guide their way to a 50-39 victory over Ronan.

Even though the Chiefs increased their scores through the quarters and Libby had more turnovers, Ronan was no match for Libby’s offense,

Ryggs Johnston led the Loggers with 18 points; Nagle chipped in 16 more as Erik Lauer tallied eight. Gabe Peck scored an additional six and Brian Peck added two.

The team had an impressive night through-and-through with 13 assists, 28 rebounds and 41 percent of shots made.
